Registration FAQ's
1.Where are the Gulf Coast Little League Home fields?
GCLL practices and has all baseball home games at Cindy Mysels Park, located at 5611 Warren Street, Naples, FL 34113. Some teams practice at Winterberry Park on Marco Island.
2. Is my child the right age to play?
Children aged 4 to 16 are eligible to play, as long as they live or go to school within the Gulf Coast Little League Boundaries.
3. What other expenses can I expect for the season?
At a minimum, your child will need a baseball glove and cleats. Prices of gloves vary widely, and we have many in our GCLL clubhouse should anyone need one. Players playing
catcher in the minor's division and up will need a protective cup. We encourage all players to have their own personal batting helmet for sizing and hygiene purposes. Bats and
catcher's gear are provided for use during practices and games.
4. When is baseball/softball season?
Spring baseball season begins Thursday, January 7 with evaluations. The evaluations will be followed by a draft where players will be chosen to a division appropriate team. Practices
will begin the next week. Our Opening Day celebration will be Saturday, February 8. Games will begin the same week and go through April. Tournament season is in May and
All-Stars begin as well.
5. What if I want to practice on Marco Island?
All softball teams except 12U practice on Marco Island at Winterberry Park. Our 12U team practices at Eagle Lakes in Naples. Please indicate Marco Island as a preference on your baseball
registration form. We will do everything we can to accommodate, but once teams are full, we have no choice but to overflow to Naples.
6. What is expected from me as a parent?
GCLL is an exclusively volunteer run organization. We expect each parent to volunteer in some capacity whether it be as a Coach, concession attendant, or scoreboard operator. We
do understand some circumstances make it very difficult to give of your time, and we have enacted a $100 opt out fee. You can choose and pay for this during registration. Signups
for concession/scoreboard volunteering will be mandatory at Uniform Pickup Day unless the fee has been paid.
